Maranathan Family Learning Center & Academy, Inc. (MFLC&A) is a privately funded, non-profit, 501(c)(3) school and learning center. Donna Dukes, founded Maranathan in 1991 for the express purpose of providing a safe haven and second chance to critically-at-risk youth and adults. Maranathan Academy offers the small class size and close, personal attention that critically at risk youth need and deserve. By combining required academic courses necessary for the attainment of a high school diploma, with the instilment of lessons in faith, self-esteem, and personal responsibility Maranathan has achieved phenomenal success --
• 85 percent of our students have completed high school and earned diplomas.
• 53 percent of our students have entered colleges and universities.
• The remaining 47 percent of our graduates have entered the military or become certified in a trade and gainfully employed.
The impact of Maranathan doesn’t stop with its student body. The families of our students also benefit from counseling services, workshops on financial literacy, life skills training, and more. With the combined numbers of students and their family members who received our services, Maranathan Academy has significantly impacted over 1, 500 lives. Maranathan consistently reaches its main goal -- to break the cycle of government dependence that has plagued the familes of our students for generations.
